Your words can help make the world a better place
Write From The Heart is a monthly Micro Fiction Competition with a difference.
Your $2 entry fee will be split between a nominated charity and a prize pool.
So you write, give, and have a chance of winning all for the cost of a gold coin.
For more details scroll down.
This Month's Nominated Charity
One of the unique and fantastic aspects of our competition is that half of your entry fee goes to a charity partner. AND the winner of the month’s comp gets to choose the charity partner the funds go to. Last month our winner (Jan Kaneen) nominated Wintercomfort Cambridge as our charity partner. You can also see some of the great charity partners we have raised money for in the image on the right.
Free entry for 12-25 year olds
Everyone has a story in them. So why not write one and be in the running for a $50 first prize. This month’s theme is ‘Future’ so all you have to do is write a story, poem or song in 100 words or less that includes your interpretation of the theme ‘Future’. Maybe a vision of the earth in the year 2099? Maybe a more personal look at your future. Entries close at Midnight, end of February 2021.
A guide for Open category entrants
Entry is easy. Entries from all over our beautiful planet are most welcome.

Total Cash Pool
We’ll keep you regularly updated on the total cash pool via our social media pages (click here). So how is the prize pool calculated? Good question. 50% of your entry fee goes to our monthly charity partner, 10% for admin purposes to keep the comp running and 40% to the winner of the comp, unless we have more than 100 entries in which case we split up the prize pool in the following way – 50% to our charity partner, 10% for admin and 40% is divided up between 1st, 2nd and 3rd with 1st prize taking 70%, 2nd prize 20% and third 10%. Does your head hurt after that? I know mine does. We know that money isn’t everything but hey, you may just earn enough to spread the love and shout your friends or loved ones to a night out at the local.
December 2020 Winners
A HUGE congrats to Scott-Patrick Mitchell for taking our December’s comp with his wonderful look back on 2020 ‘2020: Don’t Even Mention Toilet Paper…’ and to Runner Up Laura Tapper and 3rd place getter Rananda Rich. Congrats also to our winner of the 12-25 category for December 2020, Dillon Rubalcava with his fantastic entry ‘Dissent’.
